Governing Body

St. Teresa’s school is Voluntary aided.  This means that it is part funded by the Catholic Archdiocese of Southwark. The Governing body is split into four sub committees:

  • Business
  • Teaching and Learning
  • Pastoral and Community
  •  Admissions

Each committee is chaired by a Governor who reports back on progress in the various areas to the full Governing Body once per term.

Children are at the heart of all that we do here at St. Teresa’s and we always ensure that decisions made by the Governing body are for the benefit of children’s wellbeing and their continued high standards of achievement.

The Governing body review their performance annually.  The Governing body wishes to ensure that effective Governance matches the school's aspiration to remain a first choice school by:

  •  Making challenge more effective and appropriate in Governors meetings and related activities
  •  Developing and articulating a long term vision for St. Teresa's school that champions effective collaboration
  •  Raising the profile of Governors to ensure that stakeholders and external parties are aware of the functions of the Governing body and have a positive attitude towards school Governance.

Membership of the school's Governing Body is set out in the table below:

In addition to the full Governing Body meetings, the Governing Body delegates certain responsibilities and more in depth discussions to 4 committees:

Admissions, Business, Pastoral, Teaching and Learning Committees.   Minutes of the governing body meetings are in the school office and paper copies can be made available on request.
