School Leadership

There is a shared responsibility for leadership across the school at all levels.  We believe that we are all called to serve the school, parish and ultimately – Christ.

The school sets high expectations and has created a culture that promotes leadership at all levels.

The school is led by the Headteacher and the Governing Body, comprising of members from the community, church, staff and parents.   School leaders regularly evaluate the performance of the school and set clear targets for improvement.  The school works especially hard to build leadership capacity,  we are proud of the fact that a number of staff members who started as newly qualified teachers with us, have gone on to fill senior leadership posts here and elsewhere in the Deanery and beyond.

Safeguarding is always the schools top priority.  We have a strong team of trained safeguarding leaders led by our Deputy Headteacher for Pastoral Care, ensuring that systems are effective in keeping children safe.

The school only employs the very best staff to ensure that the curriculum is robust and highly effective in promoting excellence.  This area is led by our Associate Headteacher for Curriculum and Assessment who leads a group of phase leaders and subject leaders responsible for monitoring various subjects and year groups.

All teachers in school are involved in leadership at some level.  We have split our curriculum subjects into a number of professional learning communities that champion curriculum areas and plan strategically to make improvements.

Children have opportunities to lead in many ways across the school including Prayer Leaders, School Councillors, Eco Warriors and the Head Boy and Girl team.  Children are involved in whole school decisions such as the recruitment of staff, saving energy and teaching and learning priorities. Pupils represent the school and Parish at a range of events including singing for the sick and housebound, showing visitors around the school and helping to run sports events.
